Learning to "Love Well"

Today I attended the Women's Retreat at our church and found it to be a huge blessing to my heart. The Topic was "Loving Well" lead by a DVD session with Beth Moore. This was the third series I have done by her and am always in awe of what a great speaker she is. God has anointed that woman to speak God's Word with enthusiasm, intellect, and He even gifted her with a hilarious sense of humor.
I learned so much today and I would love to share it all, but I think it would be best for you to go through the sessions yourself.

However, I feel compelled to leave you with a few tantalizing nuggets to spur you into deeper thought on this topic and to motivate you to look into her studies. So here it goes:
  • Are we loving better than we did 5 years ago?
  • God Measures maturity by how we love!
  • "We will not love well, until we feel well loved." (Meaning we need to experience the fullness of God's love for us in order to love well; especially when we feel that people close to us have abandoned us and don't love us)
  • When God is showing you His love can you recognize it?
  • If love was getting into our hearts, it would be getting out! (FRUIT)
  • The Love of God isn't hampered by our insecurities or anxiety.
  • Insecurity is Unbelief rooted in Pride!
  • What a man craves most is unfailing love. (But we can not get that any where but God)
  • The people in our lives who are "testy" are placed in our lives for a reason. For our growth and gain, but we can love them at a distance.
  • We never have a biblical mandate to love blindly. We do to love insight fully, with wisdom. The statement "Love is blind" is not biblical.
  • If we don't deal with the "stuff" of those "testy" people in our lives, then we may become like them. No healing!
  • We are always called to Restitution with God.
  • Loving your enemies sets you apart.
  • Take the opportunity to love with no strings attached. (Talking helping a stranger on the road, going to a third world country, etc.)
  • When you minister to strangers your healing we become complete.
What a stimulating and emotional day. I am energized now! I feel like God really spoke to my heart about so many things. Thank you Lord for your word. Thank you for anoiting your people to do your works.
