I FINALLY MADE BREAD THAT ROSE!

Finally! After 13 weeks of making bread I finally made one that didn't look like a hockey puck. They were all eatable... they tasted the same... they just didn't look right!
But here it is...


I found out that I was killing the yeast. I was using water that was too hot and I was letting it knead for ten minutes in my Kitchen Aid Mixer. So now I have a beautifully yummy Red Hard Wheat Bread Recipe that works. Thanks Kristi for teaching me over and over and helping me figure out how to make it rise.

Tip: In making homemade bread I found that you can drastically cut the time off of the "rising" if you put it in a warming drawer on low... or if you don't have one of those... also putting it near the dryer of dishwasher while turned on works well too.

  1. Wow! way cool. I'm like you; it's really hard for me to make bread but after like 20 million times I finally got it right! And after the 1st time I had my hubby take a pic of me as well...
